Who is Pete Kellerman?
Isn’t he the brother of Hank Kellerman.?
Yes! This may be true. Actually it is completely true. These two brothers are of a prime example of what it means to be family. These two boys hail from, you guessed it.. Overland Park Kansas. The modern metropolitan hub of north eastern Kansas. Though, years apart their creative minds complement each other in ways no scientist can begin to understand. But more on that later.
Peter or Pete as his friends call em, got into film and production early on. Through his high school broadcasting program under the direction of TV’s own Denny Brand, Pete began a journey into the minds eye of imagination, using the “new” digital video format. He participated in school news programs and various projects up through his senior year. In his senior year at the one and only Blue Valley High School, He would go on to make a film of some kind, as part of an independent study program, (in order to get credit, you have to create something..) This is where “OPTION DAY” came to be. Taking crude drawings he made in photo shop and animating those drawings in adobe after affects, using a truly ad lib style of script (no script), a cartoon of some fashion was born. It went on to win an award at the Johnson County Community College film festival. Whilst in his last year in high school he further immersed himself in the projects of the under classmen, mentoring, writing, and starring in projects when needed. Moving onto further study at Johnson County Community College, he focused more on radio/audio production. Telling a story where the brain is the big player in relaying the environment and audible stimulation drives the story. This is where Pete not only thrives but is an active member in the audible attack of the senses. Learning to play guitar by ear and starting at the age of 15, he now has over a decade under his belt (almost a decade and a half..)of listening, reading, and seeing and processing information and taking that raw material and creating a story of any kind. Mind you, he cannot read sheet music to save his life, and music theory …he will just stare at you. ..no idea.. But still he makes it work most of the time. He has a way of conveying a certain emotion into an arrangement or working the levels to a way that just works Me being me and writing this thing, I’ll tell you. I, for about half the time I know what I’m doing. But I’m learning as I go. We all are.
Pete’s a funny, goofy, out there, kinda fella. Give him something and he’ll comeback with …”I did this..” and then “For Pete’s Sake!” you get it . All of these creative minds together , I truly believe there’s nothing short of pure gold coming out of that hole in the ground. Stay tuned and I’ll see you at the movies!!
